Teen Ambassador Training Photos
Who are the Teen Ambassadors? The Texas Teen Ambassadors are a group of high school-aged (and some college-aged) teens that provide guidance, input and direction to state tobacco control leaders regarding the state’s tobacco prevention efforts including the Texas Department of State Health Services Prevention Initiative (Pilot Program) and the Alliance for a Tobacco-Free Texas statewide coalition. While representation is sought statewide, it is intended that the Ambassador initiative place a priority on providing input as it relates to the media campaigns and efforts developed as a result of the Texas Tobacco Settlement. Ambassadors serve under the direction and guidance of CSCS. Funding is made available for this initiative DSHS. All activities carried out are in accordance with the state’s tobacco prevention and control strategic plan. CSCS will continue to foster strong youth-adult partnerships that support young people in serving as leaders in their communities across the state of Texas through continuation and expansion of the Texas Teen Ambassador Initiative. Teen Ambassadors continue to take an active role in the planning and implementation of Teen Tobacco Leadership Summits and the annual Teen Tobacco Summit and Comprehensive Tobacco Prevention Conference. |
